I had my hair done by Tracy several times and always been happy with it. Also she always takes the time to talk to you and she is a wonderful caring person.
The best part about moving to Grand Valley was finding Cuts & Curls-and the best hair stylist I have every experienced. The staff are wonderful. Unfortunately the Owner is not a reflection of her professional staff. The last time I had my hair washed & set-she increased my price point by 50% with no warning. In fact she pre-wrote my bill prior to leaving the shop while I waited for my appointment . I understand prices change-however their is a professional way to give notification to your clients. I hope it was worth it for Nina to humiliate and lose a long time client. I won't be back!
Kelly, Once again, Thank you for your comments! On June 24th, you were made aware by two senior stylists, that any future appointments, should you choose to book, the prices would reflect the discounted increase. At this time, they also showed you the current price list, and that you had to date been paying a generous discount. (the discount was put in place for our then apprentice), over time, that stylist was met with your begrudging willingness to pay increases. (you always complained)! yet the price was honoured.
You booked your appointment with a new stylist to Cuts & Curls, on July 13th, 2022, I was there, and i had told her that we would give you a discounted price, which I knew from the staff, that you were told what the amount was, your service included, Wash, blow dry,and straightening. the service time is booked for one hour. You arrived at your appointment, and you began reading your book, and were not willing to engage in conversation with myself, hence not allowing myself to confirm the price stated for your service. Upon completion of your service, which went beyond one hour, the stylist provided you with the amount, which you refused to pay, she was left speechless, and contacted myself by phone, and I heard you loud and clear, that you were not willing to pay for this, since you stated that you were not prepared to pay price increase without notice. i did state to you on the phone, that both stylists, did tell you and I had confirmed with both of them and they clearly said they spoke with yourself , and verbally, gave you what the prices would be for your future appointments. The professional conduct of the staff has always been trustworthy, and have no reason to state otherwise.
You state that I humiliated you, but you did your own humiliating, by refusing to pay, crying, speaking out to the clients that were waiting,and causing your own drama.
Kelly, During my twenty years of business and owning 5 locations, I have had the priviledge of being surrounded by a team of professional staff members, providing excellent skills and services to our community, including Grand Valley, Orangeville, Brampton, and Toronto.
To date, I can't recall when any client has ever mistreated myself, or our places of business in the manner of which you have. Your have indicated to myself, and staff that you would prefer to walk in and not call as suggested to book your appointments, you clearly have no regard for our business practices, and you expect our staff to leave their client, to book your appointments, while you have been indignant to some of our staff members.
Myself and staff have provided excellent customer service to you, However, customer abuse will not be tolerated within our business. as I did mention to you, that this place of business was your choice should you wish to be a patron.
Its amazing your lack of accountability. I didnt ask for a generous discount! I paid my bill willingly to by hairdresser weekly! for 5 years. When you increased your price points by 30% in September I stated "that price increases should have been implemented yearly as a business owner & out of respect to the client." I had know idea I was being undercharged ! It truly was an act of kindness by my hair dresser. I am sure you knew what I was paying by the receipts. The reason my hair took so long on July 13th was due to the fact that per norm you overbooked your stylist. Btw your senior stylists at the previous appointment showed me the note on my file "and both stated they didnt think the price increase was fair" Price increases are part of business but 50%. I was shocked " as you knew I would be" when I received my bill which triggered my outburst- you had every opportunity to pre-warn me. Btw the clients agreed to my comments on your business practice. As for booking appointments-all my appointments till now had been booked by text. I too spent alot of time waiting during my appointments while your girls booked clients. You didnt refuse all the money your graciously accepted from myself & my family for 5 years. You didnt refuse my business. I quit!....there is a hair shop on every corner. I need to be in a place of positive evergy!
Kelly, I am finding it very difficult to dignify your above comments with a positive response to you! however, Once again, I find your accusations, unfounded!
Let it be known, "The act of kindness from your stylist" was not out of kindness, as she had mentioned that she felt you held her to the price, that is how I became involved, she didn't know, how to explain herself and we agreed to increase every few months, however as she indicated you were very reluctant to pay the increase. and challenged her. Not only did she give you a rate below standard pricing, you also demanded that she install a 'spray in colour' that was not certified by our Colour line Goldwell. Under no circumstances should that ever been allowed. ( once again you took full advantage of the young staff member, in hopes not to be found out!)
This service was also a service that you took full advantage of the stores time and labour. (and not paid)!
I became involved and it was a mutual consent that we accept nothing less than what you were told by the staff on June 24th, Once again you mentioned that the senior staff showed you the note on your profile, so your reference to the above paragraph, indicates that you knew of the price increase. My question to you ? Why the Drama on July 13th,? with the refusing to pay your bill, and the tears, and telling others to be careful....... as Clearly stated above, you did know!!!??
Kelly, as you indicated above, you knew well in advance of July 13th that you would be paying only $45.00 plus tax,(below pricing standard), you could have spoke directly with myself, to discuss your affordability.
However your sense of entitlement to walk in and demand appointments while the stylist has a client in their chair, coupled with your refusal to allow certain stylists to touch your hair, as you stated, has placed yourself in this position.
You also indicated while a client was having a service done, that you wished you could "rip my face off" once again, why? would you continue to so generously in your words, Why continue to do business at Cuts and Curls!
Once again thank you for your past business, we continue to wish you much success with your new hair salon.
My my hair coloured by Tracey today. I can’t even tell you what an amazing job she did. Not to much how welcoming and informative she is. There’s no cutting corners to get you what you want. She actually takes her time. Sets reasonable expectations. Doesn’t make fake promises and most importantly she delivered. Her work is amazing. Love my hair.
Horrible experience went to get a blonde brown balayage and left with black hair. Taken me 4 months to get it out and still trying! Brown and black are two VERY different colours. So pissed!!!

Honestly I’ve been to many babrber shops all over the GTA seen them all been through it all I came here when the place was about to close got 3 boys a amazing hair cut plus got my hair braided and lined up big ups to QTEE and RICHIE they made me feel like I’ve been going to this place since it opened honestly you couldn’t ask for better staff honest polite cool and best of all they got some skills I hope they his message goes to show the lengths these people went through to make my experience a good one did not leave until 11:30 pm best barber shop hands down in the GTA NO JOKES NO GIMMICKS JUST BLESSED BARBERS AND HAIRSTYLISTS
What a great message, and as an owner I would appreciate these comments, however given that I did not recognize the employees names, and after questioning my own staff, I do believe that your comments belong to another business.
